Why we like it

Hill Country at its prettiest. We know the load-in, the rooms and the timing here.

We know the load-in, the rooms and the timing here. Below is exactly how we run a night at Camp Lucy.

About

Camp Lucy

Camp Lucy is a 282-acre resort and wedding venue in Dripping Springs, about half an hour southwest of downtown Austin. It has five wedding venues, ranging from a 19th century chapel to a tent set in the vineyard. Tillie's restaurant and Folklore Spa are on the property too, so a wedding here can stretch into a full weekend.

The people
Whit Hanks, Owner

A chapel from Vietnam

Ian's Chapel was a Catholic church in Vietnam that owner Whit Hanks bought, moved to Texas and had reassembled.

Guests can stay over

Couples, families and guests can stay right on the property in suites, estate rooms and standalone cottages, subject to availability.

Catering is in house

Catering, drinks, setup and breakdown come with the wedding packages, and catering managers and event staff stay with couples throughout.

How a night here runs

The ceremony

At Ian's Chapel it's inside the chapel, or out on the overlook when the weather is nice. At Sacred Oaks it's in the grove of oaks. We bring a battery box to every ceremony here, so the sound goes exactly where it looks best.

Cocktail hour

At Ian's Chapel, cocktail hour usually lands on the overlook, with music following your guests out.

Dinner and dancing

Inside the hall. Every spot we set up in at Camp Lucy looks good, so we place the booth where the dance floor works best.

Aaron's tip: uplighting

Uplighting, and more of it. We program it for a moody, candlelit glow in either hall without you buying a single candle.
